Chairman

Halldór J. Kristjánsson has held leadership roles in both public administration and international finance. He served as Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Industry in Iceland and was CEO of Landsbanki. He has also held senior positions in the banking and financial sectors in the UK and Canada. In addition, Halldór has served on the boards of numerous companies and industry associations.

Vice Chairman

Dr. Sivert Vist is Investment Director at Equinor Ventures, the corporate venture arm of Equinor, an international energy company headquartered in Norway. Since 2004, he has held leadership positions across Equinor in onshore operations, large-scale investment projects, and R&D. At Equinor Ventures, he focuses on early-stage and growth investments. He also serves on the board of Elestor B.V. in the Netherlands.

Fiona Fei is International Business Director at Geely Holding Group, a Fortune 500 company and leader in new energy vehicles, including methanol-based technologies. With over a decade at Geely, she has led or supported major international mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures, and currently oversees global strategic investment and commercial development.

Laurent Van Wulpen is Strategic Development Director at Methanex Corporation, the world’s largest producer and supplier of methanol. Since joining Methanex Europe in 1998, he has held senior roles in marketing, logistics, sales, and operations. He now leads corporate development and global commercial projects, with a focus on strategic initiatives and Responsible Care.

Sigurður Hannesson is an experienced executive and investor. He is currently Investment Manager at Eyrir Venture Management and has held CEO roles in multiple companies. He co-founded Thule Investments, managing funds in Iceland and Luxembourg, and has served on various company boards across sectors including biotech and healthcare.

Alternate Director

Kristine Kvalø Johansson is Investment Manager at Equinor Ventures. Since joining Equinor in 2010, she has held roles in procurement, strategic partnerships, and negotiations. At Equinor Ventures, she leads investment processes and manages parts of the company’s venture portfolio. She is a board member of Rovco Ltd. in the UK.

Alternate director

Sindri Sindrason was Chairman of CRI from 2007 to 2016, CEO until 2019, and Chief Business Officer until 2020. He previously served as CEO of Pharmaco/Actavis from 1981 to 2003 and on its board until 2008. He has since held board roles across sectors including IT, food, insurance, and biotech.

Chief Executive Officer

Lotte Rosenberg has broad executive experience in the energy sector, with leadership roles at Ørsted, Nature Energy, and WPU. Her work has focused on strategic growth, international partnerships, and scaling organisations across Europe and North America.

Head of Engineering

Björn Harðarson has over 14 years of experience in engineering and project management, including eight years in Norway’s oil and gas sector. He holds an M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on sustainable energy systems.

Chief Technology Officer

Emeric Sarron has more than 15 years of experience in the chemical and syngas industries. He is a specialist in CRI’s core technologies and process design. Before joining CRI, he held senior engineering roles at Haldor Topsoe and Air Liquide.

Chief Financial Officer

Gauti Reynisson has extensive international experience in finance and operations. He has held senior roles at City Leisure Group, Heimavellir, and Heimstaden, leading investment development and driving organisational growth and transformation.

Chief People and Legal Officer

Kirstine Bekker Skaarup has over 15 years of experience in HR, legal, and international operations. She held senior roles at Nature Energy / Shell RNG and NORMAL A/S, leading global HR strategy and supporting rapid expansion across multiple markets.

Chief Commercial Officer

Michael Ertmann has over 20 years of experience in energy and finance. He has held senior roles at EIFO, CIP, and Ørsted, where he led financing for global energy projects and helped establish Ørsted’s venture activities in Silicon Valley.
