HOW WE RECYCLE CARBON TO PRODUCE SUSTAINABLE NEW PRODUCTS – VIDEO

The global economy relies on manufacturing of industrial goods and raw materials to fuel innovation, exports and productivity growth. In developing areas of the world these industries represent a pathway to rising incomes and living standards. These same industries are responsible for 19% of the global CO₂ emissions, emitting no less than 6 gigatons of CO₂ annually.[1] This poses a dilemma for policymakers, seeking to achieve CO₂ emissions cuts in an economically viable manner. As proposed by the United Nation’s Panel for Climate Change, the adoption of new technologies capable of transforming industrial value-chains to a circular economy are essential to meet both of these challenges.[2]
